The Slut Conspiracy Manifestooo...

We sat and wrote down a somewhat more descriptive and colourful explanation of the ideas that gave birth to this project, hopefully this text will encourage, inspire or enrage... all critique and praise will be meet with gratitude as we hope this project will grow and change with the support of our fellow feminists and sluts.

Love and Smut / Slut Conspiracy
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Slut Conspiracy is a Berlin based non-hierarchical network of anarcha/sexpositive feminists who organise sexuality focused discussion groups, information events and distribute zines.

The Slut Conspiracy name stands because in the eyes of heteronormativity that's what we are, Sluts. We want to reclaim this word and load it with positive and empowering ammunition.

This is what reclaiming the word means to us:

To stop being ashamed or hiding that we are all sexual beings.
That we can all be responsible yet sexually active.
That respect for lovers has to do with treating your sexual relations with respect through negotiating what sort of relation is actually wanted and respect the people around you enough to let them choose their own ways.
To use love to empower those around you, not to cage them in.
That there are no non-PC sexual practices when your sexual relations are based on consent practices!
That masturbation is one of the most wonderful experiences we can have with our bodies and is the one sexual relation that will span for the rest of our lives, a total expression of love for ourselves.
That masturbation is also an important key to our sexuality, a way to physically and emotionally connect to ourselves to learn to know our bodies, our responses, our preferences - what we WANT and what we DO NOT WANT.
That your sexuality is a part of YOU, not for others to consume without your consent.

The socio political reason for this network is that we believe there is a powerful and valuable link between people's personal sex and love lives and wider issues in society like sexuality/relationships/gender/power structures. We believe Patriarchy is built upon heteronormativity as a way to control and correct female sexual behavior, aswell as other expressions of non-normative sexuality. The hetero male is a construct just as the hetero woman, these are internalized gender representations whose structures and norm sets can be found in the most radical of us. The heteronorm teaches us that female sexuality is something that only exists to meet the needs of male sexuality, the right to sexuality is owned by straight men. This can be clearly seen in society, as women (and people with a non-heteronomative sexuality) who embrace and claim the rights to their sexuality are systematically spat on by society, by the social structure and by hetero males. The idea that it is the hetero males right to abuse those who step "over the line" thrives in the public discourse, the rarely outspoken dogma that people who choose to claim and openly express their own sexuality as a positive force are the ones responsible for agitating the sexual violence performed by hetero males.

We believe that the best way to change social constructs is to start from the inside out, this means identifying and working with the personal that exists within the structure. We believe that there is a need for a community that sees sexuality for what it should and can be, a choice between 2 or more equal human beings built on consent, respect and trust. Therefore we hold discussion groups for all; female-oriented, male-oriented and non-gendered groups. We also distribute literature on sex and sexuality to stimulate intimate and mature discussion with topics that encourage deeper thought about sexuality and explore issues that can help strengthen sexual confidence as well as self confidence.

We are always on the prowl for more people to join our network of Sluts and to set up satellite groups all over because the sexuality crisis is world wide. For more information about discussions, zines and everything else: slutconspiracy@riseup.net
